I enjoyed your article. Morals are important to people, no doubt, but economics really drives change. The pope may win the day on morals and get broad agreement on an issue but people will still do what is in their economic interest. Case in point is abortion. It is safe to say that most people do not favor abortion except as a last resort but acting in self interest people still get abortions. People will probably continue to burn dirty fuels until it is no longer economically viable. Rather than have governments try to enforce limits, I think it is better to give people a viable alternative to carbon fuels. Ocean Geothermal Energy Foundation has such a solution to the climate change crisis. I hope you will take a moment to check it out. Us wonks could use some support.
